Comments: There is a bolted slab route on the far right side of this photo. It goes up the smooth face to the large white, triangle shaped scar about 3/4 of the way up in the photo. I think it goes around 10c/d and was put up by an employee. Fun multi pitch route!

Comments: We just missed each other. I was there around the same time. Spent the day cleaning problems, only to come back to camp covered in soot.

Comments: Did this one a few years back. We called it "Trim the bush," on account of the cleaning that had to bedone at the top. There is a left and right exit

Comments: Definitely feels harder then Frontal Lobotomy (5.10a), but not a full grade. Feels a bit more slippery, which makes you take pause when heading through the crux.

Comments: If this route was three times taller it would be a classic! Best route at Big Rock!

Comments: This is the route to learn to trust your feet on. Great friction up microscopic holds. One of my favorites at Big Rock.

Comments: The Mars boulder is 4.0 miles east of Cedar Grove and 1.4 miles west of Roads End. It is easily seen from the road. Park in a small dirt turnout on the south side of Hwy. 180, then cross north over the road and walk a short distance west.

Comments: So, it's called Halo. I've done that as well, but figured someone else has. That rock at the base gave me pause before doing it.

Comments: Fun climb!
P3- one of the greatest single pitches of climbing I've done.
P2- one of the worst.

Comments: I have the only known accent of this problem/ route. It has only been done on TR and for future climbers please respect the lack of bolts. It can be done as a highball boulder problem with an excellent landing. The only reason it hasn't been bouldered yet is there was a large rattlesnake living near the base and I felt that was an added element I didn't need to deal with for the headpoint. For the TR it's best to use long webbing or an old rope for the anchor. There are a few small cracks (prote... more >>

Comments: Been putting up boulder problems and routes here for almost seven years. One of the best kept secrets in the sierra. I absolutely love Kings Canyon!
