Comments: P1 has a 5.8 variation start (see Reid book). It follows the right facing corner up to a 2 bolt anchor/rap station. The pitch requires small gear (000, 00, 0, C3's) - I always feel like I'm going to peel, but have not taken the slide yet! You can then link up P2 of the flake and rap off - nice 2 pitch warm up or cool down...

Comments: Great intro into Tuolumne runout face climbing. Also do Scandalous Summer on the left side of the dome. Dozier Dome rocks! A big thanks to the FA teams!

Comments: this is one of my favorite climbs at Snowshed. The bottom 2/3 warms you up with interesting 5.7-5.8 block moves, then awesome jams and liebacks on good feet and great gear - love it!

Comments: Great route to do while you are waiting in line for Hospital Corner. Good protection, just one or two 5.9+ moves, then easy dike hiking to top. Can rap on 60m rope.

Comments: I really liked this climbed. We did it as an approach to Mr. Natural, and took two #4's and a #5 - leap frogging them down low. I climbed past the bolted anchors up to the tree for shade and comfort - phew - what a work out!

Comments: Good finger, hand, and toe jam practice. Take some laps on this route to improve your skills. Protects well, but of course if you put to much gear in, you take your jams away...

Comments: We really liked this climb. It starts at the Crepes Corner belay. Lots of pro in the chimney, and enough knobs to sling up high. We broke it into 2 pitches so the leader could watch the chimney action!

Comments: We could not find the 'Horizontal chimney' so we started with the powerful lie back moves directly below the corner. The problem with this start: the belayer cannot see the climber when you are in the upper section of the corner, so we broke it into 2 pitches.

The Horizontal chimney is RIGHT of the lunch box rock. Scramble up right into some bushes, then you can see it. I will use this start next time.

From the start of Crepes, you can also do Fluted Crust/Knob Hill. Lead up and left into chi... more >>
