Comments: Just got off this over the weekend! Pitch 5 is super exposed and a great spot to bivy. The crux pitch is pitch 2. The super topo gear rack list is right on. The last pitch is really rotten and loose and haul the bags from the trees up and left, not from the tree on the right, as you could accidentally knock loose stuff over the side hurting parties below. This wall is a good one for preparing for El Capitan.

Route condition- Lots of fixed gear on route...Some wires and pins are ready to go but... more >>

Comments: Did this Oct. 11-16th 2011 Clean with my friend Christian. Spectacular route.. For me the crux was pitch 15.. The middle of this route is nice and exposed. The upper third is relaxing with very aesthetic climbing. I used a wood block to a free move to gain the top of the Bismark! It was also a moment of inner convulsion for me! I took 1 20 foot fall and 2 30+ falls in the dark... It was my first El Cap route.

Comments: I am 6'4 and the move felt like an easy 5.10. However, when my girlfriend, who is 5'6, tried this she struggled to reach the handhold making it much harder for her.

Comments: Be careful of Scorpions...I was checking out a problem looking over at my friend and then I looked back and a tiny scorpion was half an inch from my hand going for it...Also there are birds that nest in the pockets. Usually whenever I go there now I check every pocket before climbing...I suggest you do this. Also, like the intro said watch for snakes.

Comments: Ah man did this sweet route on April 19th 2010...I thought the first pitch was definitely 5.8+ maybe easy 5.9...Do not try and go left into the small chimney...hahaha I did that and realized it was not indeed not easier so I had to down climb. Of course I was leading it with a bunch of gear on and only a year and a half experience trad leading. The pro is kinda sketch around half way up before leading to some bomber placements...Currently there is a fixed nut around 3/4 of the way up someone lef... more >>

Comments: Yes its comparative to the Hidden Crevasse, In J Tree that impossible to find, that I have done several times on New Years, I would say its equally as cool. Its more of a Climb/Scramble...there really isn't any hiking involved most of the time your climbing and scaling slab's...We took 4 guys on it and it was just a blast. Sorry about the chipped marking it made me choose one type gotta fix it...I just love these types of journeys thought I'd share it with everybody. :> Plus there w... more >>

Comments: Fun Route, the bottom has a boulder move sorta have a spotter ready. I did this in my guide shoes and flew up it on TR to get a photo of us flying a kite on the Top of another climb...I would say this is prob the best route on Sweet rock just for its sustained fun climbing. This is good for the beginner leader who wants to become more comfortable sport leading. I have to agree that it is over bolted though...but then again who am I to complain. Thanks for setting this route up.

Comments: Once you reach the giant jug at the top you cant wait to clip the next bolt...Has anyone done the variation going straight up the face to the left of the bolt? It looks really hard, I tried it and I rate it 5.11a/b...fell trying it though :<

Comments: You are so right about the ants...:< I almost got eaten alive...my partner had to basically use me as a punching bag for over 10 minutes just to get all the ants off me...I think the ants got out some rage on me...Its funny that some actually made it up to dinner ledge with me in my draws and they seem to know when your making a hard move...

Comments: What a beaut!!! This line is stellar...Definitely one of the best trad routes Ive climbed on Lemmon. The second pitch is far easier than it looks but is so rad. Watch out for loose block on second pitch...Rock fall potential for those walking below.

Comments: Just did the aid route under the bill...What an awesome bolt ladder. I would say if your bored and you want to practice some aid this is a great spot to practice. The bolts are in very good condition, all the death bolts have been replaced. Major props to whomever hand drilled these bolts...That must have been tiring. Btw, you can easily free climb the first part up to the belay ledge and you can do it in one pitch with minimal rope drag.
