Comments: It is illegal to climb here. There are serious consequences if you get caught, so climb at your own risk.

Comments: A HUGE thanks you to everyone who came out tonight. We had a great time despite some technical difficulties (which we hopefully learned from). There was definitely some cash in the margarita fund by the end of the night and hopefully everyone enjoyed themselves and learned something about how badass a resource the Alpine Training Center is. We'll probably do this shindig in the late Summer/early Fall again.

Thank you!!!

Comments: Just a reminder that if you want to help Kelly out, there will be a donation box and a silent auction of Cilogear pack at the Community Night at The Alpine Training Center in Boulder tonight.

Comments: We'll have a donation box for Kelly at the Alpine Training Center Community Night this coming Thursday. Come check out the gym, see an awesome slide show, have some beer, win some schwag, and toss in a couple bucks for Kelly!

Comments: Climbed Bridalveil on 12-29-08.

The new descent anchors are buried under tons of snow. We couldn't find the top ones, so left a v-thread on top. Good luck finding the directional bolt and anchor after that, I spent awhile looking for them.

We did discover that 70m ropes get you down from the 3 bolt anchor just below the top of the climb. You can walk down from the ledge you hit.

Comments: Climbed Martha on April 29th.

There is some ice on crux sections now, but still a lot of snow. Not sure if the ice is coming or going, but it was pretty thin and a bit detached in places.

Quite warm in the Cirque today, so I'm betting the ice is going to get thicker for the time being.

Comments: In fat on 03.23.08.

Did in three pitches with some simul-climbing. Very nice blue ice on the right side, some crap ice on the left. It's getting lots of sun, so get on it before it melts out.

The approach and walk-off are in good shape and the glissade back down the packs is nice and fast.

Comments: Climbed the Ice Hose on 03.22.08.

Bottom of the first pitch is melted out, climbed rock to the right and stepped left onto the ice.

Second pitch is rotting out, there are some "interesting" moves off the belay with some crap ice/pro. Gets better as you get higher up.

Third pitch was HUGE. A bit of a mank layer, but very nice climbing.

Awesome route!

Comments: Squid is definitely in (12/09), but was not wet today. Incredibly brittle and still felt every bit of 5+.

Comments: Did Mous-Ka-Tears today (WI4+?). I would recommend one longer screw (19 cm?) in addition to Jack's suggestions, as there is a nice layer of mank before one of the steep steps.

The ice is in good condition, although one of the steep steps is a bit hollow and trying to form better. Be nice!

Traverse right towards two trees on level with the end of the ice for a 60m rappel to the base, we slung the trees with yellow cord and left a leaver biner (taped closed).

Very fun, but the new snow made t... more >>

Comments: Took a look at Hessie's today. A party beat us to the route by a little bit, they were having a lot of trouble with manky ice. A good chunk of the ice through the crux is now missing (~15 ft?), but we saw the leader topping out the second pitch (R hand side) as we hit the road, so hopefully that means the ice is sticking around up there.

The bottom of the first pitch was thinner than early last month when we did the first pitch, but the top looked to have thicker ice. There also looked to be... more >>
