Comments: Some loose stuff on this one. There's an obvious, well-chalked pinch that's gonna rip out some day.

Comments: trisgo,
Do you mean the buttresses of Prairie Walls? If so check out the pic below, otherwise the Minnesota/Wisconsin Falcon guide by Mike Farris is the best for locating all of the specific areas of BM. He does have a new edition coming out "soon".

Comments: Less than 10 minutes if you're camping for free on the BLM land south of town. It's maybe 15 to 20 minutes depending on your campsite in the Reserve.

Rock City is a nice little store at the south end of town where you turn to drive up into CoR. They have plenty of beer and make pizza and sandwiches too. It's a nice place to hang out after a day of climbing. You can also access the wifi from the BLM office nearby. You'll need to register for it and they'll give you 30 minutes a day for fr... more >>

Comments: Pretty lame. The BLM should be able to track down these asshats.
For $10 you can buy as much scrap wood as you can stuff in your vehicle at the lumber mill north of Canon City. Just get there before they close at 6.

Comments: Pete, I do that too when posting new (to the site) routes.

I think the heel hook is key to getting your hands in the right spot, but releasing the hook and establishing yourself above the roof....ugh.

Comments: Mike,
Are you sure it wasn't the park people? They've cleared cliff line vegetation in the past. If it was climbers then that is seriously not cool.

C'mon people. Don't screw this up for everyone.

Comments: I think Apollo's would be the red line. My comment under the route name "Slab of the Wasp" was for the green line, at least that's the line I mentioned doing several years ago.

Comments: We got out just in time to miss 10 inches of snow about 5 years ago. This was in early April. You just never know.
