Comments: I bet this route has seen very few redpoints. Very hard for .12a.

Comments: I have been waiting for this route to be added. I would say solid 5.11d for sure. I really fought hard to send this one first try.

Glad to see this area being updated. Thanks everyone.

Comments: Hi Dima, Thanks for adding the route. Lets go with Bull Run for a name. Go with what ever you think is appropriate for a grade.

Comments: The bears in NH must be bigger and meaner than the ones here in VT.

Nice job guys! I am all for keeping the tradition alive.

I have lead Black Flies up to the crux. I dont remember the firs bolt being that bad. I do remember i was not excited about the repeated falls on a button head at the crux. i think their 5/16" or 3/8" but still not a lot of confidence.

Comments: This route was the sole reason i went to Owl's and i was not disappointed. Fantastic pitch! I was able to onsite it and did use a stick clip for the first bolt. I dont think there is a move on it harder than .11c but it is damn sustained and every move as hard as the last for most of the first half of the route. I think the grade should stay .12a because it makes me feel good about my climbing abilities.

Comments: This is actually a five pitch route. Pitch one deserves five stars. I believe Chris Dube did the FA.

Comments: OH SHIT Mark! You just dashed my hopes and dreams. I got totally spanked on Zonkers a few years ago when i tried it. I dont even know how to do a tape glove so i guess i am out for a free lead.

Comments: Fantastic climbing but i cant really recommend this one. Ground fall potential for the first half of the route and thats even if the old fixed gear holds. One of the more severe pitches at Owls Head. Four old bolts and bring several lowe balls and micro wires for the expanding thin flakes.

Comments: From the line you drew on the photo it appears you started up a route called Jupiter (not on this site) then traversed on to the Nose or as called here Beak Buttress. We saw you guys on our way out on Sun, must of been a late one for you. Good job on taking it to the top. How did you get back down?

Comments: No i dont think it is quite 5.12, maybe 5.11c/d. I would have to give it a go again on a cool day to refresh my memory. The crux pitch is pretty damn heady especially with the old bolts so it might be a while until i step up to it again. I have done two other pitches there that possibly make the 5.12 cut, one being directly below the crux pitch of Spare Ribs.

Comments: I replaced the first two bolts on this route. They were both old self drills and each protected a serious runout. The first one seemed in ok shape but the second broke off with a few whacks with a hammer. I plan to replace the other three and patch the holes. I also think the upside down pin above the second bolt should be replaced with a bolt. The pin is very old and the feature to fragile to replace the pin.
We did the route in two pitches to the belay at the crux pitch of Spare Ribs. Doing i... more >>

Comments: Nice climbing on a fragile flake. Bolts are spaced with groundfall potential so bring a number 4 camalot for "mental" protection, just don't fall on it. I placed a two bolt anchor at the top because this route deserved more than a bushy 5.3 down climb. The previous belay was nuts in a poor flake.

Comments: Hi Chris, Part of me does not care but the other part loves the adventure climbing aspect. In a previous post you mentioned splitter cracks at this chossy place. Did you find Eagle Point crag? It sounded like you got around the place a bit.
If you or Colin have any bouldering FA info i would like to get it for record keeping.
