Comments: I think that's the right side of the P Wall (Possibility Wall). Rob Pizem put up some testpieces on that thing a couple of years back, and there is still an open project (.14?) up there too.

Comments: Finally there’s topos for Thunder Ridge! Check them out; they should make navigating this awesome place much easier.

Comments: Wow! Great topo. This clears up a lot of the confusion regarding which route is which on the Sheep's Nose.

Comments: If you left some gear at the C-section (Hedgeclipper) area on Sun. 3/4, I got it at the end of the day. PM me with a description, and I'll get it back to you.

Comments: Great pitch! One of the best of its grade at Unaweep (at least that I've done) and easier than it looks from the ground. Thanks for your work in the area, Jesse!
Any attempt (or beta) on the pitches above the pillar? They look splitter as well.

Comments: No worries, I was only guessing anyway. We didn't have a current guidebook (our was borrowed from some Austrians, which was from the 1990's and not in english). I'll post more later.

Comments: I think it's called "parete" zebrate. Which means zebra face (I think). Look at the title in the photo of the sign at the trail-head. The routs here are awesome, moderate, and sporty. When ever you can't see the next bolt, they've painted arrows on the rock to show you where to go. Also they have chizled the rout names at the base to avoid confusion. Different country, different ethic than the states. If this place was in the US, there would be a thread 50 pages long about the disrespect for the... more >>

Comments: That sure looks like the .10- a few routes to the right of Flesh Tuxedo and not Richter Scale.

Comments: I thought it would be more appropriate if it was placed under Mt. Evans as the views of the Black Wall and Evans are just in the background. Oh well; killer crag on good stone. Nice job, and thanks for all the hard work.

Comments: You would have to skip a lot of good holds to make this .11b.
.10+ in my opinion.

Location: CO : Canon City : Shelf Road : Sand Gulch : Free Form Wall : Barney (5.9)
By: Dave Meyers When: Oct 9, 2008

Comments: After going back and climbing this route with the new extension, I definitely feel that it is a 5.10. Barney now goes all the way up to the top of the cliff with 3-4 more bolts past the old anchor and is pretty sustained. Not that it was a bad climb before, but now it's a Sand Gulch classic. Nice job, Bob and Carrie!

Comments: Don't be fooled by Craig Childre.
"This place is nice, but it is no destination crag. The road sucks, the approach sucks, and very few would go to the trouble to actually take a trip there. Sitting Bull is a far better choice if you want some of the sweet Limestone."
-Road was traveled by a Honda accord
-approach was a casual 30 min
-limestone is better than Sh--ting bull falls.
However, I do agree with the removal of directions from the site. Let's not ruin the access to this great climbing res... more >>

Comments: Good, now I know the dates not to go to the Creek. Gee, I wonder why this area's access is threatened? If you want to learn how to crack climb, take the money you would have given to these companies and give it to the Access Gund, so that you'll have a place to learn how to crack climb the old fashioned way.

Location: CO : Canon City : Shelf Road : Cactus Cliff : Muscle Beach (5.11a/b)
By: Dave Meyers When: Dec 17, 2006

Comments: Let's at least stick to the guide book ratings here. Definitely .11a. if this route was at old Shelf (Contest, Freeform, Gallery, etc.) it probably would be .10d.

Comments: I'm not sure about the location of broken foothold, but I just did this route last weekend, and it is still .10b/c, and yes it is still one of the best 10s at Cactus.
