Comments: What a hoot! This is a good multipitch primer in Flagstaff. The Lift-off and Spacewalk were a blast and just what the doctor ordered. Moving the belay on pitch 3 was very clean. Lunar Ledge is great to hang out on, and I wish the last pitch went for 400 more feet!
We ran it as a party of three and it worked well with one 70m rope. Two women and a man on the moon ascent! Only a dozen draws/runners and belay gear are needed. Though it looked like you can rap from Lunar Ledge to the groun... more >>

Comments: exciting and fun route. Felt like a rhyolite version of a Sedona spire. Fairly clean, with only a few dirty bits but generally avoidable. The two cruxes are brief and protected well!
A few notes:
P1: save the #5 for the final 5.8 wide crack of the pitch.
P2: leave second rope and extra gear at rap-chains before the notch. Also, instead of moving the belay to the bolts at the step-across, another option is at a gear belay under the bolt in the notch. (couple of nuts / small cam in the h... more >>

Comments: Very thoughtful, Harald, thanks, but it was more special not having financial support from other than a well-paying job at the time. I have had incredible experiences and learned a lot in that Canyon. I think it's awesome to see many others continue to contribute.
Perhaps start a local Wishlist in one of the forums. Many of the active stewards frequent this site.
I think the biggest improvement could be made in the approach trails. Especially to the lesser visited crags! But that is "officiall... more >>

Comments: I think Coy Flynn should try some harder routes in the Front Range. He may surprise himself or at least have a better idea of 5.12 ratings.
I think some folks rate TDD on the onsight, some rate it on the redpoint.
