Comments: With a few pieces of gear, possibly a better entry is with the start of Crack a Beer to access the headwall.

Comments: ^ B Smith, it is Jefferson County and Clear Creek County Open Space. JeffCo calls their part Clear Creek Canyon Park. Here is link to management plan, though no specifics on guiding.

Comments: for such a classy looking route, I am surprised 'Fear of Flying' is not listed here. Anyone have any beta that is not in Green's or Opland's books?

Comments: pitch 1 is more like low 5.10 and now sports a bolted belay/rap anchor.

Comments: ANCHOR UPDATE: with concurrence from the FA, a pair of bolts were added to P1 belay ledge (~75'), and two more added to the P2 stance above the previous tat-hanging-belay anchor. The tat and half-driven pin were removed leaving the one ok bolt, that may prove to be difficult/improbable to clip. A #5C4 and #4C4 recommended on the final flake of the second pitch. (single rap to ground from P2 anchors with two ropes.)

P3 anchor still remains the same (two 3/8-inchers with biner... more >>

Comments: Glad to see that belay bolt is still there and is helpful. I previously used a #2 Camalot in the horizontal and a blue TCU in a pocket for a gear belay.

Comments: According to my notes and Alvino's topo, that is also what I referred to as 'Large Crack'. This route has a fixed pin.

Comments: i have seen tests like those too, Eric. Though comforting, the hazard is not in the biner breaking, but rather the sharp edges that can cut the rope. On two occasions, I have had the sheath of my rope cut and even some of the core from falling on a grooved biner. However, this is more common on fixed draws rather than lower-off biners.
