Comments: Does anyone know anything about the line in between Rhadamanthus and Rhadamanthus Corner? It is about 15 feet to the left of Rhadamanthus. Its a slightly overhanging broken crack system that seems like it should take some gear. I have not seen it in any topos as a lead or a top rope but it strikes me as an obvious line.

Comments: Bolted is at least R rated. The bolt is terrible and the gear afterwards is so-so.

Comments: I sent this yesterday afternoon. Very fun climb. I would guess it harder than 11+. The crux section (for me) is maybe a 15 foot V4ish section that starts 1/3 of the way up. It is not so hard in isolation, but it is much more difficult when combined with the rest of the route.

Comments: I guess I'm confused by the desire to "own" the FA. It makes a little more sense to me with sport routes but even then... I could never imagine myself officially red tagging a route, even if I put in a tremendous amount of work to open it, and I don't fully understand the motivation to do so.

The sandbox analogy doesn't work for me because you don't own the boulder like you own the toy. Also the threats of violence seem a little excessive, as does the claim that my "lack of integrity as a huma... more >>

Comments: what is the rationale/justification for a closed boulder project? What if I climb it and don't tell a soul. Is that against the rules?

Comments: What are conditions like in this area now? would it be worth a day trip from CT (everything here is covered in snow). Any other places in PA that are climbable?

Comments: There is a very nice bouldering spot right off of the white trail (right side if you are headed out from the main parking lot). Plenty of unclimbed rock. There were spots of chalk on a few boulders.

Comments: working on it....

This is one of the most impressive features I've seen in CT. Huge granite roof with features. The is one line on it that ends in the middle of the roof and another on the arete pictured that tops out in the middle of the boulder. There is potential for a line on the side/near underside of the boulder, and lots of hard stuff underneath.

Comments: Any advice for testing it besides standing on the topout and trying to push it off with my legs (which I've done quite a bit of)? Besides the optics of it, its never felt the slightest bit lose, its never budged a millimeter and the block itself does not resonate as if its hollow or completely detached (as in the crack is not crazy deep), but I'd be interested if you had some advice for more thorough tests.

Comments: This place is pure untapped potential. TONS of boulders and cliffs. Some stunning crack lines (up to 40-50 feet) and so much bouldering. Really great rock and its all condensed and accessible by trails. I don't know how this place hasn't gotten more attention...

Comments: Does anyone know anything about routes on the "Great Frog Bouler"? It has one of the most impressive faces I've ever seen on a boulder with two very climbable, highball aretes. I'm sure someone has done something on it....

Comments: There is deep water soloing in connecticiut... check out youtube videos for "ct cliff jumping" or something similar, and you will find some surprisingly large cliffs that people have been jumping off of for a while (and maybe climbing up too).
