Comments: The gear is small but there. Tiny shallow cam right off the bat that maybe isn't really high enough to really make any difference. You can get cams and small tri-cams in at the horizontal over on the right at about the 20-25 ft mark. You can get side gear (wired nut) in the crack that leads off to the right. That crack maybe off route if you are behold'n to the guidebook description. Above the steep part where the route transitions to more slabby rock you get more really small wires and cam... more >>

Comments: It looks like there may be some new boulder problems on this toppled block utilizing the holds from Aku-Aku but now positioned at a completely different angle..... Does the big toppled pine tree now offend the access to the White Wall routes? It appears in the photo that it does?

But then.... I have not been to Red Nose Wall in quite a while...
Did someone burn through 9 drill bits up there recently?

Comments: Well... I know for sure that using those holds off to the left make the grade easier... So call it climbing Deceptive with maybe an easier 5.10 grade? Do and climb whatever you like... there are no real rules regarding that particular aspect of rock climbing. But then later when your recounting (or bragging... talking smack) just be honest and admit you reached off to the left when doing the entrance moves of "Deceptive".

Comments: J Mascis has an up-coming High Noon Saloon show scheduled. Don't forget your ear plugs. His shows and especially the Dino Jr shows I have been too are THE LOUDEST show I have ever attended anywhere. To be fair to John he didn't have a guitar slung on his rack and especially no hovering helicopter.

Comments: News update about Dennis and the quarry. Dennis does not own the any of the quarry anymore. It all belongs to Todd now. Please make sure to stop in and speak with Todd when entering the quarry now. His place is the new house over on the right when first entering. Dennis has had some health issues recently. He suffered a stroke some time early in 2013 according to my understanding but has made quite a bit of recovery since. Saw him briefly on Sat. 1-11-14 when he came out and said hello.

Comments: Darin's hard core but with a light weight drink in his hand. Looks like Hard Lemonade? Guess I will give it to him... it probably was a hot day. Maybe he had spiked it with some Bourbon?
