Comments: Climbers, please stick to this trail in accessing the climbs on northwest, west, and south sides of Tahquitz so that erosion damage can be minimized. And encourage your friends to do likewise.

Comments: Yeah,I notice.I just found it interesting. It's for sure harder to do in one pitch and without the fixed hex's.The first time I led it there was only one fixed hex just below the crux.

Comments: There's a heel toe lock under the roof that is the key to this problem. It keeps your feet from peeling off when you go for the lip.

Comments: Ok,Its B or C or what ever you say. I have led it a lot, So maybe it is a bit easier for me.Don't know. Crack-a-go-go is 11.C and it is for sure harder than Insomnia. Chris said its 11.B So I'll go with that.Theres only a few 5.11 moves on the route. The flared chimney is 5.9+ the moves coming out of the chimney and into the layback are the hardest moves I think. The upper portion of the crack is 10.D but go ahead be suspicious.

Comments: The direct start ( The bat crack ) is 5.10b at least that's what it was when I led it. Don't feel dumb. That mantle is 5.10c I did the same thing. Most everyone does.

Comments: This route is 5.11D if done as intended. After the last bolt which at one time was the only bolt. The route goes up and to the right on thin sightly overhanging face to the belay with no pro! Most commonly the crack sees all the action by most who visit. But for others the crack is just a vehicle to get to the real business the face above. Back in the 80's this route was considered a real test piece here at Indian cove. I think it still is.

Maybe ? My thinking is if you are unable to walk away ... more >>

Comments: This route is one of my favorite climbs on this wall. Makes you think. Very cool. I disagree with the R rating. No ground fall the pro is where it needs to be. In fact there is only one R rated route on this wall. and it is B.O.T.B.
