Comments: FYI: This is the email I just received from my congresswoman here in southwestern Washington in response to the letter that I sent prior to the vote in September:

October 28, 2013

Dear Brigette,

Thank you for contacting me regarding H.R. 687, the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act of 2013. It is an honor to represent the people of Southwest Washington, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me.

As you may know, H.R. 687 was introduced by Repres... more >>

Comments: This picture made me think of the wolf in the Neverending Story. She's much cuter and cuddlier, of course, but same glowing eyes.

Comments: That "chossy ass wall" is home to a few great easy-moderate leads for those of us mortals that climb at the Homestead. :)

Comments: PLEASE pick up your trash when you climb here - this includes toilet paper. There is quite the toilet paper bouquet building in the bushes across from the Welcome wall. Pack it in - pack it out. Thanks!

Comments: These routes will be great easy additions to the area once they're cleaned a bit more. For now, take care to choose the non-breakable holds.

Comments: FYI - As we were packing up to leave this past Sunday, a nice European gentleman arrived at the base of the crag on an exploratory hike. As he sat against the wall resting, multiple small rocks fell off of the top, nearly hitting him. All the humans at the crag were packed up and standing at the base, so I'm thinking it might be squirrels or other critters. Maybe while we were climbing they were hiding, which is why we didn't experience any rock fall during the day; once they though... more >>

Comments: Hah! I got through the crux - no jugging, and no traversing (guess Disneyland will have to wait). Time to downgrade it. 5.10a?

Comments: I may have to traverse out to California to get around that spot, but I'm gonna go for it!

Wait, did you pull the jug at the bottom before or after I climbed it last time?

Comments: Boodge: I'd've kept climbing with you if I'd known that all I had to do was hang around to see you run into a tree and knock yourself out. Twice. ;)

Comments: By "you", you mean "one", right? Because I'm quite certain that someone other than me could dyno to that less-than-juggy hold.

I'd actually like to try this route again, if anyone's up for it.

Comments: Geir: It wasn't put up as an 11a. Someone knocked off the block that enabled mortals to reach that high hold.

Boodge: Did *you* knock that block off. ;)

Comments: I vote 5.11a on this route, based on the impossible-for-anyone-under-6' move before the roof. Tons of fun, otherwise.
