Comments: This is a FUN solo, much better than tying in, now i admit that i was once getting elvis leg on routes similar to this, we all had to start somewhere! and yes i still do rope up and take beginers on this route, but was i being a show off jerk? no, was i trying to sound like the coolest cat on the block? no!! i was simply stating that this is a good solo to get up early for and to start the day off and get some blood flowing before you tackle some more challenging routes. Im sorry that it has off... more >>

Comments: as per the tic mark comment, you can see every hold on the as you walk into the cliffs area, basically mapped out for ya like a gym. doesnt look like anyone has hit it with a brush for some time, on the first under-cling move, i nearly slipped off due to an absurd amount of chalk being on that thing!

Comments: thanks aaron for chiming in, i hope my comment wasnt one of the ones that was taken as spray, and if it was i appologize. no doubt this route is the best of the sac area, plus that is the best answer to any of the comments on here!

Comments: i do not onsight .12a and i felt this was a solid .11c as well, but.. like Aaron has stated it definitely is an endurance route, im not confident enough to say its not a .12a cus i dont climb that regularly, but i will say this was a good onsight (with beta!!) for me who is breaking into the .11+/.12-

Comments: i have never had any issues with it, i have also never heard that it wasnt okay outside the quarry, the only time i have been asked not to climb has been in the quarry, never at mammoth bar sport routes or clementine wall or the spires across from the quarry, i see that your gonna be climbing with us this weekend, lets talk more then!

Comments: trad routes with bolted anchors, approach sucks, routes ehh short and nothing to brag about not really worth the time my friends ^^ whats this bouldering only stuff? the quarry itself is only open for climbing Fri-Sun and holidays. the sport routes next to the river fair game anytime, as well as the bouldering on the river

Comments: well there is one bolt, the 2nd but yes the rest are just the bolts without hangers, bring some small nuts and hang them on those suckers and it should be a spicy lead!

Comments: the route is new so its not surprising that something broke, prob more solid now than before though, that seems to be the way it goes around here

Comments: no approach to set up TR that im aware of, so this would be another lead mandatory

Location: CA : Sierra Foothills North : Auburn Cliffs : Memorial Wall By: Brennen T When: Apr 8, 2013 | view comment >> |
Comments: i would say this is a lead only wall, i suppose it is possible to get a TR for the 5.6 but its really not worth the effort. all of the TR goes on at the scale wall, but you should lead the anyways! if your going to TR please use your own biners and dont go through the chains to keep the wear down on them since this area has become pretty popular lately

Comments: fairly nasty approach to this one,if this one of the 2 routes on the farthest right of the wall, trundling up downed thorn bushes!

Comments: i also climbed this weekend, whipped on that bolt in question a few times and held just fine, but i agree it could use a little tightening.

Comments: the undercling is starting to feel loose, its definitely starting to move a bit, would make this route impossibly hard if that thing broke
