Comments: Climbed this yesterday, car to car from Roaring Brook. Placed Camalots #4-.4, tricams, a few nuts. Used a 60m and did this in 3 pitches up the Armadillo and 2 long pitches up the ridgeline through scarily loose rock.

Roaring Brook-Chimney Pond took us 1.5 hrs, Approach took us 2 hrs. Descended via Saddle Trail

The forecast was 60s and sunny. It was 36 degrees at the base, 65 at the top.

No gear inspection

Comments: This climb can be led. The gear is solid and accessible. A spotter with pad on the ledge behind it is not a bad idea.

Comments: I placed 2 C4 #3's, 1 #1, 1 #2, a small nut, and walked a #4 a few feet. Not bad if you have some offwidth technique. Harder if you don't use the crack. Could use some serious gardening at the base.

Comments: bolt confirmed, i did it a few weeks ago and it was all there. an awesome sport route with a nice enough crack to place gear on toprope or in addition to sport bolts. watch out for all the poop on the holds

Comments: a great route, rated 10a in the current guidebook, and definitely feels that way. balancy climbing to the first bulge, where it gets a little trickier. dont forget some shitty pockets might turn into bomber underclings.

Comments: Im new to the area, but have probably spent at total of 10 days hiking and climbing around sinks and have yet to see any snakes.. Use your eyes well and stomp your feet. Wasps are definitely there. Killer Cave is climbable in the rain, if your climbing 11/12's. From everything I've seen in the book, Sinks canyon is perfect for the 5.10 sport climber. probably a total of 10-15 routes under 5.10, mostly spread out, but a decent concentration at Scud wall next to killer cave. Love the pockets, hate... more >>
