Comments: glad to know CDD. i can't stand yuppie comments like that....not that hundreds of people are gonna flock there but still. i have never been to a climbing area and thought, "i wish there were a lot more people and traffic here."

Comments: 5.9+??? Great feet outside the crack to the crux then its just beautiful tight hands. The difficulty of this route is comparable to The Bastille Crack in Eldo which is 5.7 just for reference. one of AR's best cracks for sure

Location: AR : Horseshoe Canyon Ranch and ... : Horseshoe Canyon Ranch : Confederate Cracks : Treebeard (5.8) By: austin luper When: Aug 30, 2012 | view comment >> |
Comments: no way its a 5.8, compare it to hackberry 5.9-,deft jam, 5.9, wma 5.9+. its nice and low angle with SOLID feet and good jams. If you think that is a sandbagged 5.7 good luck out west.....it was changed to be comparable to crack Meccas of America. id say the ratings are still a little soft compared to Lumpy, Eldo, Red Rocks, and J-tree. not bashing just sharing some of my experiences. Great route good gear like Jon said

Comments: No people and shitty trails is what Arkansas climbing is all about. Screw more traffic....go to horseshoe if you like seeing other people while climbing. it doesn't feel adventurous for no reason....its remote with no people.... that is why its so awesome. I have climbed in a lot of areas around the country and that's what makes certain areas in Arkansas special because there is no traffic! i just wish there weren't so many bolts...id rather rap off trees than see bolts scattered all over the b... more >>

Comments: Lee i'll lead you to the promise land of hard scary mixed routes out there. @Ryan...couldn't agree more. bolts are bad enough and fixed draws just make me sick. i wouldn't mind rippin every singe one in the state out...just plain ugly. i see it as litter

Location: CO : Estes Park Valley : Lumpy Ridge : The Book : J-Crack Slab Area : The Campground (5.7+) By: austin luper When: Jun 12, 2012 | view comment >> |
Comments: Fun pitch. I took the right crack. It is very good climbing. The chimney at the top is nothing to worry about. I only had a number 4. You can move out on the face to super easy climbing very soon after getting it in.

Comments: I think this would scare me as a novice..there is a nice runout after the roof, and if you fell, it would be really bad.
