Comments: This is a fantastic climb.... We tried it on gear, and it appears that the sandstone is too weak.... Early last summer, my buddy and I were placing some gear (to get closer to the corner/climb it more naturally).... I slipped (about three or four feet above the cam that was deep in the crack) and it ripped out huge chunks of sandstone. It didn't ruin or change the climb at all, but some of the crack is now a bit wider. I would recommend against the gear and feel that the bolts are very well pl... more >>

Comments: Yes Mark its easy to protect... That second deck/flat area is overlooked and is not forgiving. All of the pieces held when I fell... Another part of it was that I had just caught a glimpse of someone who fell and broke their neck. To be fair-I let my head get to me. Point is-this climb will not forgive (especially that top section). Be careful and have fun!

Comments: RUN OUT. Pitches 5&6 were GREAT. The rest was run out (3 placements in about 200 feet) Don't Slip. Rated well but sketch as far as placements/gear goes... My belayer started cussing at me when sometime either p3 or p4 I finally found a placement (that wasn't crap) 60-70 feet above the him. Screw that. I would rather be on Granite.

Comments: On our roadtrip through Canada we came here mid-June Last summer and there was too much (rotten) snow to do anything. Just on the trail we would fall up to our waists everytime we took a step or two. Definately would wait until at least July.Crazy area though. Worth checking out. Also the stories about the critters are true to-Watched one crawl up into the engine compartment of a Suburu and had a hell of a time getting it out. Seems they have learned to go around the chicken-wire.

Comments: I messed up my ankle last June. Ended up hobbling down the trail to the car-People looked at me as if I were a ghost. Wish I could have gotten a picture of their faces. The top crack section is a bit harder than it looks. I put a piece about neck high. It was solid and held but enabled me to deck out. If I would have "Nut-Fished," and taken some time to really place a piece (higher) I probably would not have hit so hard. Great Climb Though!
