After you get done climbing be sure to head up to the summit for sunset. Its only a 10 minute walk from the main wall. Don't forget your headlamp.

Comments: Thanks J! One of my favorite spots to watch the sunset in NC.

Comments: I would agree this route begs for passive gear. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned doing in a singe pitch with a 70. I didn't but next time I would. Both pitches were less than half a rope length with a slight exposed scramble to the top, and it seems to run direct enough to keep drag from being an issue. I found a fun alternate on the last pitch that went left into some exciting and exposed roof pulls that push it into the 7+/8 range. I replaced the core shot tat at the pins on 7/11/14.

Comments: 1st pitch anchor pieces are still fixed but one is a tricam with old nylon and a rusty quick link and the other is an older rigid stem friend with rusty axles, so I just built my own. I replaced the old core-shot tat for the rap off pitch 2 as of 7/11, pins still seemed solid.

Comments: Anyone know more history on this route? The Kelley and Selected guides show the route go climbers right after clipping the bolt to the 1st bolt on Fleet Feet. We went straight up the face to the anchors (on TR), as this description seems to describe.

Comments: Excellent route! Link 1st 2 pitches, as nbrown states, for full value. The route wanders a bit but follow the path of least resistance around the bulges. Dries pretty quickly, even if you see water near the top, the route stays left of that. Pretty well protected for Stone but I would not like to fall at a few spots because the fall would not be your typical Stone "slide".

Comments: Hard to capture the angle from the belay but is it certainly not a slab. It is quite steep. Probably the pumpiest 9 ive ever been on, though none of the moves are that hard. I did fumble with my gear longer than I should have though, which didnt help.

Comments: Agreed, This is, I believe, where the guide has the pitch end. This photo was taken for the Access Fund Conservation Team. Frankly, this belay makes a better shot and its nice to be able to see your partner cruxing up the steep section.

Comments: I have never finished this climb by following the crack all the way to the end, but I would recommend the "finger crack" standard finish. It, for me, was the crux and probably the most fun section of the entire climb.

Comments: Ive been on a multi pitch rap at stone mountain in NC with the same conditions... lightning and waterfalls everywhere and an inch and a half or two inches of water rushing over your feet. Scary but exhilarating. when we got down, where the wall met the ground was a massive cascading waterfall. When we got to the the field right below the sun shines through the clouds and deer walked out into the meadow. Good Times!
