Comments: caughtinside is right about the 70m rope--my guidebook warns you to bring 2 ropes or a 70--but is one of a tiny, tiny minority of Cali granite climbers who just doesn't "get" limestone. Many have told me that the last pitch was their favorite!!

Comments: Don't pay attention to caughtinside. If you are expecting nothing harder than 5.9 you will be sandbagged. Nobody in his right mind will tell you that the 10th pitch is anything like the 7th, or the 3rd, or the 6th.

Comments: Did the route, had a blast, the final 5.7 pitch is fantastic climbing, 5.7,5.9 whatever, it's a stellar pitch. Moutaineering with sport bolts, fun fun fun. We rapped the route, you can learn a lot by doing this, don't be lame and short change your self on this valuable experience.

Comments: Kinda liked this route not as bad as i thought it would be from the guide book. I've clipped far worse bolts and much more runout stuff. Give it a try.

Comments: Its morning and its not fake. We on our way to some epic climbing! I think this day, my partner and I climbed Snott Girlz which is a 7 pitch climb. That small jut or tower over the electrical pole is the top of Snott Girlz.

Comments: I've cross posted this to a few places...
I am looking to go to go to EPC from sometime between the 8th and 22nd of December 2009. I have gear, am experienced on long routes and these days can red point 11a. I drive well and have a background in guiding, and I'm an all around swell guy... I do not have a car so I looking for someone who may be driving from the south east (Florida, GA area.) I am in Tallahassee. Contact me for more details!

Comments: Would like to make a trip down 11/14 - 11/22, and my partner bailed last second. Anyone bringing odd numbers down who would like to share a ride from Colorado/New Mexico? Comfortable leading to mid 5.11 range.

Comments: Will be in PC in Nov., wondering what the beta is for most longer routes. Do you rap the route to get off? Other parties? Curiuos... thanks! Also planning on just camping in the park for 12 nights, is this realistic, are there enough "quality" spots.
Gracias,
Richard

Comments: Thanks for the suggestions on donations. I will definitely bring down a couple of my old ropes to give to the fixed rope cause.
I'll be going down to Potrero for the first time at the end of October and could use some advice from someone who's driven down there before. Such as: Drive time from Denver? Should I buy the Mexican car insurance? Or any other suggestions/tips for a hassle free and safe border crossing.
Also-I have a partner for the first 2 weeks of the trip but will be looking for s... more >>

Comments: Since it's time for many people (including myself) to start making plans for a trip to Potrero I thought I would try to help the climbs a little. There are a few people that have poured tons of money and time into the climbs out there so a few donations can go a long way:
1. Old rope. If you're nearing the end of a rope, consider leaving it at the end of the trip. There are several routes that could use a new fixed line (base of Celestial Omnibus, Time Wave Zero (badly), Land of the Free to... more >>

Comments: Hey Brian,
There's really a good variety of climbing. Most of the stuff I've climbed there was vertical or near-vertical, with lots of edges and crimps. The rock is grippy, but not painfully sharp. I remember a few pockety routes, but my climbing partner had a nice little movie-moment with a HUGE millipede on one of them, and I may have shied away from sticking my fingers into any strange holes after that. (Which is probably good advice for every area of life, really...)
Others may have freshe... more >>
