Comments: You took the comment wrong miss Jennifer, when I said we can be a little soft on ratings I meant we're pretty well know in these parts for rating a 5.10 as a 5.9 thus being soft or going on the lower end.

The first part of the statement was meant to be slightly funny, I have pictures of me on a v0 that look like I'm on a v12, clearly you can't grade a climb from a picture :)

Comments: A) How can you look at a picture and tell if it's 11a or not? You can't. And B) Tucson is NOT known to have soft ratings. In actuality, it's known to be quite stiff compared to most areas.

Comments: Looking back, I realize that climbers all over the country travel 1.5hrs to get to where they want to climb, TIA or STL. Only now I have to hike for at least 30 minutes. At E-rocks you trip over the curb and hit your head on a boulder problem.

Comments: Boy, things have changed since I left climbing in 2000. Never thought I would ever see a bolted 5.6 sport route. Oh well...

Comments: The Cliff Drive area is in the nice part of the Northeast neighborhood of KCMO. Usually stays pretty quiet (unlike about eight blocks south). Stay alert, but don't be a worry-wort.
