Comments: 3rd hanger is missing now. Needs to be redrilled as bolt is too small.

Comments: Gotta agree with Mono. The respite you get after the low technical crux offers little in the way of meaningful recovery, especially given the pumpiness of the top section. Charging through the mid-section efficiently and enjoying its airy bolt spacing added to the experience for me rather than detracting. I have yet to hear somebody complain that they had too much energy left when they clipped the anchors after the final bulge.

Comments: Great movement but the rock is worse than that of any other route on the tower. Sent a few chunks toward my belayer but nothing substantial. Certainly worth doing if you have run out of tower routes. Fortunately, none of the actual holds broke on me, though some appear suspect.

Comments: While that is my favorite, that would definitly reduce the number of routes I could climb that night :)

Comments: I'd pay money to see that on the stipulation that you start with a 40 of Mickey's (your fav, no, Mike?) before your first route. =)

Comments: Hey I remember that, good time. Sometime Supra and I are going to go there and see how many tower routes we can lead in the dark with a beer between each route. Anyone up for some designated belaying?

Comments: Oh riiight! That was cool. I've wanted to lead Grendel at night since then, but figured I'd better do the route more than once before taking that on.

Comments: During Mike's late night ascent of Grendel, the guy that was with you (forgot his name), yelled up to Mike "Use the Black Foot!" on the 'Black Streak' route. Not as funny now as it was in our stupor that night...but it stuck in my head!

Comments: I was thinking that your name sounded familiar. The Black Foot rings a bell, but I can't remember what we were referring to...?

Comments: Thanks Jason, it was a 100 second exposure at f/4.5 and 13mm. The moon was near full as well behind me, so the face of the tower was lit up brilliantly. I used a headlamp to light up some of the trees around the base.

You may not remember, but I was at the tower with you last year sometime (~November). Do you recall, "Use the Black Foot!" ?

Comments: Incredible photo. What was your setup?

Edit: I checked out the other photos you posted to Mountain Project - outstanding work! You've got some stunning photos here, thanks for posting them.

Comments: Sustained (no snooze ledge, unless you traverse off route), varied climbing on steep rock with good holds. Bottom section provides an interesting contrast to typical Datil climbing, and there's a bit of a runout on big pockets at the end. If you happened to come off, you'd have a whole lot of fun. What more could you want from a tower moderate?

Comments: A really fun route - it seems to be cleaning up nicely. It's a worthy addition to the tower. I felt it to be a bit more difficult than both Tehnowitch and Rumplestilskin. And although it has been a while since I have done Full Rubber Mission (it's always difficult to compare these things), I felt the crux move after going through the no rest lower moves was at least as difficult as anything on Full Rubber Mission. After passing through the bulge to the arete, there are really no opportunities to... more >>
