DEKD boulders in Killington
Submitted by: freezeus
Description
Beautiful collection of glacial erratics on a ridge in Killington vt. Access area from the Appalachian Trail. This is primarily a bouldering area with great rock, easy access and a beautiful setting. Currently about 80 developed problems with the potential for 100 plus. Some of these problems may have been climbed 10-12 years ago by Nate Whitehorne and crew.
Getting There
Take Thundering Brook Rd from route 4 in Killington Vt. Follow the road past mountain meadows lodge and park on the left just before the dam. Follow the road back towards route 4 and look for the white blazed trail on the left. Follow the AT north for 2-3 minutes and you will cross a small stream. You will see the first boulder on the right just after the stream. Continue 200 yards past to the red eft boulder on the right and 50 more yards up the trail to the dirty crack boulder. Most of the boulders are behind these two scattered in the woods on or just below the ridge. There are two more clusters about 50-100 yards down the trail past the dirty crack boulder.

Thanks for putting this info up. I visited for a couple hours today. Loved the Spring Boulder(mostly because I'm weak). Looking forward to seeing what else you put up.

Condditions are beautiful in VT...dry, bugs aren't too bad and temps in the low 70's with a breeze!
